Recycled plastic is tough and durable, which means that outdoor furniture manufactured from recycled plastic lasts much longer than wood, making it a cost-effective long-term solution.
The range of furniture produced by Fusion Marine is ideal for caravan parks, pubs, restaurants and other leisure operators looking to provide outdoor seating facilities following the implementation of the smoking ban in enclosed public places in Scotland.
Case study
Twenty picnic tables were supplied to British Waterways for the Caledonian Canal to be used as a vital amenity resource for walkers and sailors. Mike Lofts of British Waterways said: “The tables are very tough and long lasting and the lack of maintenance required is a major attraction, along with the fact that they are made from recycled materials.” |
Walkways - Beach, forest & moor paths
Our boardwalks made from recycled plastic are available in a range of colours and are manufactured to meet customer requirements.
Designed to blend in with the natural environment, the flexibility of recycled plastic means that our boardwalks can follow natural contours and bends.
Tough, durable, and lasting much longer than wood, boardwalks made from recycled plastic are low-maintenance, rot-proof and come in a variety of anti-slip surface textures
Case study
A boardwalk made from recycled plastic was successfully installed at Hermaness National Nature reserve. The NNR is home to thousands of pairs of breeding birds including bonxies and is home for red throated divers, snipe, dunlin, golden plover and arctic skua. The impact of foot traffic at the reserve had caused path erosion, with the bog surface being fragile and highly susceptible to trampling. The new boardwalk blends in well with the environment and will last much longer than wooden alternatives.

Pontoons
Fusion Marine pontoons provide the ideal means for providing convenient and cost-effective marine access in a variety of locations, including remote coastal areas
Constructed from environmentally friendly recycled plastic and tough polyethylene (PE), the flexible nature of the pontoons allows them to be sited on shelving beaches and other coastal locations. As the tide drops the pontoon follows the contours of the foreshore, providing the perfect answer for businesses and other operations looking to attract visitors or gain easy access to the sea.
Anchored to the shore by a concrete plinth or bridgehead, the pontoons are perfect for the landing of small and medium-sized vessels, providing mooring for inflatable craft and other tender craft. The pontoons can easily be taken ashore for storage during the winter months and their tough construction keeps maintenance costs down.
Fusion Marine pontoons are ideal for:
- Hotels looking to attract yachts.
- Mooring associations.
- Yacht clubs.
- Local communities.
- Country estates looking to diversify into areas such as sea angling.
- Marine businesses such as aquaculture operations.
Fusion Marine has over 15 years experience in marine pontoon construction, supplying everything from complex pump ashore solutions for the aquaculture industry to pontoons for leisure users. All pontoons are individually designed to suit customer requirements.

Case Study
Local fishermen in Ardnamurchan on the West coast of Scotland are benefiting from the installation of a new pontoon that will enable them to continue to land their catches in safety.
The 80m pontoon made from environmentally friendly recycled plastic and tough polyethylene was supplied to Ardnamurchan Estates by Fusion Marine and replaces the old metal pontoon previously used.
Sited at Glenmore on Loch Sunart, the new pontoon will be used by local creel boats fishing for crab, lobsters and prawns, as well as a small salmon netter.
A major factor behind Ardnamurchan Estates opting for the new pontoon lay in its low maintenance requirements and beccause its flexible construction would not damage vessels in the same manner as a steel mooring platform would.
